Friday's blogs are gonna be about whatever I am feeling that day. Today...for some reason I am missing my Grammie.

She died at the end of July. And because me and my sister were in New Mexico on a mission trip we missed the funeral. It was a tough not

being able to be there with my family and say those last goodbyes. It was not ideal. But I know she wouldve wanted us exactly where

we were....doing God's work.

Grammie was my dad's mother. She lived with my family since I was in Junior High. She was an amazing lady. The best Christian I knew. Never

met a stranger and she loved you as soon as she met you. And would tell you so. Her famous line was "I dont know you but I love you." which

was always accompanied by a great big hug.

While in photography school in Nashville, I came home after I had just bought my first set of studio lights and backdrop. I brought them home

to show my parents (I was really excited about them). I set them up intending to just play around. But Grammie came strolling thru and in true

Grammie style asked "Is there anything I can do for you?" So I said "Yes...sit". She was more than pleased to be helping. She had no idea what

she was helping with but she didnt care. That was her spirit. I didn't matter.

I was able to get this shot of her.

My dad came thru to see what all the noise was. Because anywhere Grammie was there was bound to be laughter.

She loved to laugh.

She loved sitting on the front porch, waving at the neighbors, and just enjoying God's creation.

She loved the color red and big blingy jewelry.

One of Grammie's trademarks was her 3-wheeled bike. Before her health and mind went she would ride thru the neighborhood. She loved it. She

often wore leather pants and a leather jacket while riding. Yes...my 90 year old grandmother wore leather pants. And rocked it. :) With her pearls of course. lol

Grammie had a HUGE impact on my life. She will greatly be missed but....

we all know that she is partying it up with the angels in Heaven having a great time.

And claiming her well deserved reward.

Grammie once told me on a phone conversation (she was well into the stages of dementia),

she asked "Do you have it all?" "Have what Grammie?" "IT!!" She persists.

I sat there and figured she was just having a crazy moment.

Then she says "Whatever IT is you want in this life....GO GET IT. And I hope you get it ALL"

:) Sit back and think about your "IT".

To honor her I try to live by her motto: I dont know you yet....I but I love you.

Thanks Grammie. :)

I follow these fabulous photographers Scarlett and Stephen: Wedding Photographers In Love Scarlettlovesstephen.com. They are amazing. Great style and very inspirational.  One of their latest blogs was a challenge to other photogs to shoot something or post something they already shot that was not their style or something out of the ordinary for them. Well being a wedding and portrait photographer, landscapes and weather shots are not my forte. So when thinking about a shot that would stick out in my portfolio I immidiatly thought of this image.

This is from a wedding a few months ago. They were ending their lovely day with fireworks. But this storm system (that the venue owner and myself had been watching on the radar all day) rolled in sooner than expected and decided to give us a really good show. And Im glad it did...because I was able to get this awesome shot. Fireworks AND Lightning! In one shot!

Today I am working on my office. It is in desperate need of a cleaning and organizing. So after I send out my emails and submit some orders this will be my mission! AND I WILL NOT STOP TILL IT IS DONE!!! ( I have to say it like that to psych myself up!)

So I thought I would post a Before and After shot of my workspace. This was originally a sunroom. I love that it has all the windows. My "office" has always been treated like a red-headed step child, pushed in a dark corner of a room or somewhere equally dreadful.

But not now! No! I can now work while basking in the warm sunlight or listening to it rain while sipping some coffee! ahhhhh...Love it.

Have a great Tuesday!!
